Born in London, Navala Chaudhari began her training in Shaolin Kung-fu (1989-97) she then completed her professional dance training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating with a BA Honours in 2002.  

Since then she has performed with Union Dance as a postgraduate apprentice and worked with Andre Gingras, Filip Van Huffel, Rashpal Singh Bansal and Mickael Riviere. She has also toured internationally in Bawren Tavaziva's Kumusha I am Home and danced in the piece Umdlalo Kasisi, which was selected as a place prize finalist in 2004.  

Navala has performed in Shobana Jeyasingh's site-specific works Curve Chameleon at City Hall, London, and Foliage Chorus (2004) for the opening of new north London venue artsdepot.  She has also toured nationally with Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company for the productions Transtep (2004) and Flicker (2005).  She's currently touring "Ma" with Akram Khan Company.

Navala has appeared in various commercials and Tv projects eg: Moloko, Uk Garage Howard, The Common Wealth Games and is currently featuring in the channel 4 "Music on the Web" commercial.
